With their latest batch of artist announcements, the lineup for FloydFest 18 gets all the wilder. Joining the lineup are foot-stomping bluegrassers Old Crow Medicine Show, Zeppelin-esque rockers Greta Van Fleet and the boisterous and energetic No BS! Brass Band.
The newly added artist join an already strong FloydFest lineup that includes Foster the People, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Hiss Golden Messenger, The Infamous Stringdusters, Antibalas, Langhorne Slim, The Lil Smokies, Son Little, Nikki Lane, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, The Steel Wheels, Devon Gilfillian, Lindsay Lou, South Hill Banks and Dharma Bombs. Louisville’s Mama Said String Band and Lexington’s Magnolia Boulevard will also perform on site throughout the weekend, along with many other bands taking part in the festival’s “On the Rise” competition.
Of the 21 artists currently announced for the gathering, 14 have been featured this year on Wick’s Picks, including Old Crow Medicine Show, Greta Van Fleet, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, The Lil Smokies, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Foster the People, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Hiss Golden Messenger, The Infamous Stringdusters, Langhorne Slim, Nikki Lane, The Steel Wheels, Lindsay Lou and Magnolia Boulevard.
Started in 2002, FloydFest has grown to be one of the biggest festivals in and around Appalachia. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Floyd, Va., FloydFest combines the top established and emerging artists with arts and crafts, yoga, poetry, workshops and more with a mission of sustainability and going green that provides for one of the most unique festival experiences around.
