PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (Jan. 28, 2018) – Popular contemporary artist Chris August will make a stop on his solo tour in Prestonsburg, Ky. on Sunday, Feb. 25. The intimate acoustic evening will take place in the Willard & Lucy Kinzer Theater at the Mountain Arts Center (MAC). It will be his first appearance at the eastern Kentucky venue.
August is a veteran of the Christian and contemporary scene as he has played and performed with Tobymac, Mercy Me, Matt Maher, Big Daddy Weave, David Crowder Band, and the KLOVE Christmas Tours. After a skateboarding accident in 2012 left him dependent on medication, he wasn’t sure which way to turn next. While he did wean himself off, it was while he was on tour with Big Daddy Weave that he became an eyewitness to healing and redemption. This soon became the bedrock of August’s 2015 award-winning album, The Maker.
The title song from The Maker peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Inspo charts. August is a three-time Dove Award winner for Male Vocalist, Pop/Contemporary Album, and New Artist. He has been featured on magazine covers of CCM and Christian Review. His history includes three No. 1 hits in “Starry Night,” “Restore,” and “The Maker.”
An acoustic evening with Chris August will be Sunday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by visiting www.macarts.com or calling 1-888- MAC-ARTS.
