LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 2, 2018) – WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour will honor the legacy of the banjo and Kentucky legend JD Crowe with performances from bluegrass super group Flashback and diverse female duo Jolie Holland & Samantha Parton on April 2.

Flashback is a bluegrass super group featuring former member’s of The 1995 Grammy Nominated Flashback version of J.D Crowe And The New South. The group features Don Rigsby, Phil Leadbetter, Richard Bennett and Curt Chapman. The band is in the studio working on a new CD on Pinecastle Records to be released in early 2018.

Jolie Holland & Samantha Parton are founding members of the famed group The Be Good Tanyas. The two hadn’t played together in years, but an “out of the blue” call was well timed for both musicians and led to their gorgeous new album Wildflower Blues. The album wanders from rural blues to folk and ragtime, from smoky jazz to emotive R&B and fearless rock & roll.

In addition to this week’s special performance, WoodSongs host Michael Johnathon has invited all teachers and educators to attend for free following last week’s passage of pension reform legislation. For more information on WoodSongs, visit woodsongs.com.
