WICK’S PICKS: Ep. 51 – 1/21/19 (w/ Champs of the Sun)

LEXINGTON, Ky. — This week on Wick’s Picks we sit down with Mark Allen of Champs of the Sun and looked back at some of the best guest performances on the show from 2018.

Kicking the show off was music and conversation from Mark Allen, frontman for Lexington roots, soul and rock ‘n roll project Champs of the Sun. Allen discussed his musical upbringing, formation of the band, technology’s relationship with music, the band’s debut EP and more. Between conversation Allen also performed a mix of songs live in studio along with listening in to finished tracks from Champs of the Sun’s aforementioned EP.

After a halftime break that featured new song “Time Repeated” from local rockers Home Grown Head Band—who play with Champs of the sun and Fine Lines on Jan. 27 at The Burl—we delved into listening back on some of the best guest performances on Wick’s Picks from 2018.
