LEXINGTON, Ky. — High flying rock ‘n rollers Low Cut Connie, songbird Senora May and an indie rock soaked WRFL 31st birthday celebration highlight the live menu for March 3-9. View all of my top concert picks for the week below and the entire menu here.

Tune in on Monday, March 4 from 9-11 a.m. for episode 58 of Wick’s Picks on Lexington Community Radio. I’ll be joined by Danville-based music podcasters Dusty Wesley and Haley Perros of Kentucky Music Preview and Louisville-based group The Whiskey Riders. Tune in on the dial at 93.9 FM-WLXU or online at LexingtonCommunityRadio.org.

Maggie Rose, Them Vibes, Rhyan Sinclair

A three-headed monster will ascend on The Burl later this week when versatile, genre-bending vocalist Maggie Rose, the soul-soaked roots rock of Them Vibes and budding local Rhyan Sinclair take to the venue’s stain-glass backed stage. Rose’s diverse sound, which incorporates elements of rock, pop, blues, country, soul and R&B has drawn comparisons to Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt and Aretha Franklin. See, and hear, for yourself on March 7 at 8 p.m.

Low Cut Connie, Johnny Conqueroo

If you thought rock ‘n roll was dead, then take a listen to Low Cut Connie and you’ll quickly notice it’s alive and well. The high-flying, Philadelphia-based group is driven by the flamboyant persona of vocalist and pianist Adam Weiner, which has led to the band wielding one of the most compelling live shows in America. The group comes to The Burl on March 8, teaming up with locals Johnny Conqueroo for a 9 p.m. showtime.

Senora May, Luna & The Mountain Jets

There’s an incredible intimacy in the music of Eastern Kentucky’s Senora May, so much that even listening to her debut album “Lainhart” conjures up visions of her singing from the edge of a cabin porch overlooking a holler. You can experience that intimacy and authenticity first hand when the songbird comes to Country Boy Brewing’s Georgetown taproom on March 9 with fellow songstress Luna & The Mountain Jets for a 7 p.m. show.

WRFL 31st Birthday Bash

You turn your dial all the way to the left to listen on the radio. Now celebrate WRFL’s birthday in person and in style on March 9 at Smiley Pete with Louisville-based indie rockers Quality Cable, New York power pop outfit Spud Cannon, Lexington electronic duo Tiny Tiny, and L.A. skate-disco pair Cobra Man. Music starts at 8 p.m.

Fleetwood Mac, Big Star Tribute Show

Second Hand News, a collection of local all-star musicians paying homage to Fleetwood Mac, will reconvene on March 9 at The Burl. The group is comprised of vocalists Robbie Morgan and Alicia Tighe Cuz, lead guitarist Scott Whiddon, bassist Blake Cox, rhythm guitarist Melanie Mossing, keyboardist Kim Conlee and drummer Daniel Mohler. Kicking the evening will be Otto with a set of Big Star’s biggest hits at 9 p.m.
