WICK’S PICKS: Ep. 59 (w/Lee Owen and Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle)

LEXINGTON, Ky. — This week Lee Owen (Born Cross Eyed and Wayne Graham) and Cincinnati roots/gospel/old-time outfit Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle joined me for episode 59 of Wick’s Picks on Lexington Community Radio.

During the program’s first hour, Owen and Wickstrom sat down to discuss the circumstances leading to the artist getting linked up with Wayne Graham, new perspectives yielded from travelling outside the U.S., thoughts on performing with Born Cross Eyed for over a quarter century and much more. We also heard “On My Throne” and “Don Williams” – both tracks from Wayne Graham’s 2018 album “Joy” – along with ’til the Words Run Out” by Josh Nolan, “Sleepin’ in the Woods” by Nicholas Jamerson and “The Highway Less Taken” by Justin Wells.

In the second hour we welcomed Matt Wabnitz, Casey Campbell and Scott Risner – three fourths of Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle – to discuss their upcoming album “Stranger in the Alps,” out March 15, the band’s current lineup, their induction into the Kentucky music scene and the musical pipeline up to the Queen City, and much more. We also heard “Oh, Ramona!,” “Long Gone (From Bowling Green),” “Stewball” and “The Wind” from the forthcoming album along with a live performance of “Ain’t No Need,” another new tune.
