LEXINGTON, Ky. — Johnny Conqueroo has teamed up with another of Lexington’s most-fierce and high-flying acts for a killer collaboration on “Rock and Roll,” the second single from it’s upcoming EP Taking it Easy following the June release of “Calculations.”

Joining the band for the tune are Joe Carucci and Kyle Fox, who together make up the horn section for neo soul collective Joslyn & The Sweet Compression. The pairing emerged from the suggestion of producer Duane Lundy, who called upon JATSC guitarist Marty Charters to compose the horn lines before bringing the duo into the Lundy’s Shangri-la Productions to record.

The song itself is an in-your-face anthem showing off the band’s reckless, garage rock fueled inhibitions with the added horn flair acting as the spark that sets the song and it’s firecracker like mentality up to boom. In two-step with the song’s boisterous instrumentals, the tune lyrically features themes of sex, drugs and “Rock and Roll,” told through the screeching vocal lens of guitarist/lead vocalist Grant Curless.

Listen to “Rock and Roll” below.

Johnny Conqueroo will tour the remainder of the summer and into the fall in support of its new EP with stops at Railbird Festival on Aug. 11, the Huntington Music & Arts Festival on Aug. 31, in Monticello on Sept. 28 and The Moonshiner’s Ball on Oct. 10.
