LEXINGTON, Ky. — Colin Michael and Karl Washington of Ivy Rye joined me this week for Wick’s Picks on Lexington Community Radio.
However, prior to the duo joining me in studio I took a look back on the weekend that was in Irvine at the 5th annual Kickin’ it on the Creek, playing music from several of the festival’s standout performers including Brother Smith, Chris and Jenn Shouse, Jericho Woods and Arthur Hancock, among others. Check out the full playlist here.
Shortly after 10 a.m. Michael and Washington joined me to discuss Ivy Rye’s stacked summer that saw the band head to Chicago to begin recording their debut album. After chatting some about the project and upcoming shows on Sept. 28 in Louisville at Third Street Dive with Wicked Peace and Oct. 3 in Lexington for Bedford Band’s album release show at The Burl we fired up exclusive premiers of two Ivy Rye singles – “Life is Good” and “Cloudz” – the first of which drops on streaming platforms this Friday, Sept. 27.
Listen to a full archive of this week’s show with with Ivy Rye below.
Join me next Monday, Sept. 30, for episode 80 of Wick’s Picks on Lexington Community Radio. We’ll be previewing a stacked week ahead in music that includes shows from Grammy-winning group The Travelin’ McCourys, Johnny Conqueroo, Dark Moon Hollow and The Local Honeys, among others. Tune in at 93.9 FM or LexingtonCommunityRadio.org.
