WICK’S PICKS #84: Vintage Pistol

By Matt Wickstrom

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Arkansas’ masters of jam Vintage Pistol stopped by the studio this week during the first episode of Wick’s Picks during its new Tuesday time slot on RadioLEX ahead of their show the following night (Nov. 6) at The Burl with 49 Winchester.

However, before the group popped in we fired up a plethora of new music from Kentucky artists including Nicholas Jamerson, Bendigo Fletcher, Magnolia Boulevard and Trippin Roots, among others, along with a mix of tunes from artists playing in town this week like Shooter Jennings, Vibrolas and Rising Appalachia.

The Vintage Pistol boys made their grand entrance during the show’s second hour, discussing everything from how car issues led to Kentucky, and Lexington in particular, becoming the band’s home away from home to living your best life while cramped in a van on tour to 2020 plans, which include getting back to the recording studio to cook up their debut full-length effort.
