The Ragbirds make waves with “The Threshold & The Hearth”

Since 2005 Ann Arbor, Michigan’s The Ragbirds have been spreading their signature blend of gypsy folk pop, much of the time travelling in an eco-friendly tour van running on vegetable oil. The group has racked up significant mileage in recent months, touring in support of their new record “The Threshold & The Hearth”, out March 25. BBT 1v1: Darlingside’s Dave Senft

Darlingside has had a lot of “firsts” occur recently here in the bluegrass. Their first Kentucky show was May 2 when the Massachusetts quartet performed at the Lyric Theatre in Lexington as a part of Wood Songs Old-Time Radio Hour, and their first trip to the Moonshiner’s Ball in Berea will take place this Saturday at 8:30 pm. Massachusetts band to make an appearance at Moonshiner’s Ball

Still riding the momentum from their 2015 album “Birds Say” that netted them “Artist of the Year” at the International Folk Music Awards, Darlingside, the four piece outfit from Cambridge, Massachusetts will make their debut appearance at the Moonshiner’s Ball in Berea, Kentucky on Saturday, May 21 at 8:30 p.m. on the West Sixth Brewing stage. Moon Hooch to perform at Berea music festival

For the second consecutive year, the three members of Moon Hooch will make their way from the New York City area down to Berea, Kentucky, for the third annual Moonshiner’s Ball. The trio, which transcends musical boundaries with it’s unique blend of jazz, electronic dance music, hip-hop and pop, is also readying for their third album “Red Sky” to be released on June 10. Region’s best readying for Moonshiner’s Ball music festival

As we leave the dark days of winter behind and blossom into spring, some Kentuckians are beginning to open their calendars to May in anticipation of not the Kentucky Derby, but the Moonshiner’s Ball ­— a grass roots festival in Berea chock-full of the best musical talent from throughout the Bluegrass State and beyond.
