Tucked away in the cool mountains of North Plains, Oregon, Horning’s Hideout provided the perfect scenic escape for a weekend of bluegrass euphoria at the 15th annual Northwest String Summit, hosted by Nederland, Colorado’s Yonder Mountain String Band.
The theme for this year’s celebration of Floydfest was “Dreamweaving,” and dreams certainly became a reality for Lexington group Moonshine District, who performed four sets during the weekend and garnered many new friends and fans thanks to their intoxicating harmonies and Appalachian-rooted songwriting.
For Larry Keel, music isn’t just a passion, it’s a way of life, and Keel’s life has been filled with enough of it to fill an ocean. Keel recently released his 15th studio album, titled ‘Experienced’, under the catalogue of the Larry Keel Experience, which features seasoned singer-songwriter Will Lee on banjo and Keel’s wife Jenny on upright bass.
